Elementary Mathematics
The mission of the Plano ISD mathematics program is to promote the learning of mathematics by all students through a curriculum that is coherent and comprehensive. The instructional program will enable all students to understand and use mathematics in an increasingly technological world.
Elementary Reading/Language Arts
The mission of the Plano ISD reading and language arts program is to promote rigorous reading, writing, listening, and speaking opportunities as the cornerstone for success in school, for professional accomplishment, and for personal fulfillment as a lifelong literacy learner.
Elementary Science and Engineering
The mission of the Plano ISD elementary science program is to promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. The instructional program provides opportunities for students to develop understandings and skills necessary to function productively as problem-solvers in a scientific and technological world.
Elementary Social Studies
According to the National Council for the Social Studies, the primary purpose of social studies is to help young people make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.
